Gaspard, premium stallion at the 2020 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumünster, is the first licensed representatives of champion stallion His Moment, together with Schäplitzer.
Gaspard is a true movement artist and an exceptional stallion. With his youthful, self-confident and charming presence, he knew how to impress with breathtaking performances at his stallion licensing. His noble appearance and convincing presentations, both in-hand and free running, have made him one of the top stallions in his age group.
You couldn’t ask for more when it comes to his powerful and supple, well-balanced basic gaits with lots of elasticity and the desired technique. The same goes for the carrying power of his impressive walk which completes the harmonious overall presence of this stunning young dressage horse.
The pedigree of this exceptional young stallion reads like a who's who of the most famous Trakehner horses!
His sire His Moment was the champion stallion of his age-group and is trained by German national trainer Jonny Hilberath. Like his awarded son Gaspard in 2020, he knew how to play to the gallery. The licensed stallion Schäplitzer was born in the same year. The approved and highly-regarded sire line features the valuable dressage blood of the Grand Prix and advanced level dressage stars E.H. Millennium, E.H. Easy Game and E.H. Le Rouge.
In June 2024, Gestüt Hämelschenburg published the following on its website: ”Unfortunately, His Moment had to be put down in the clinic on the morning of June 7, 2024, due to scrotal hernia with heavy colic .He was not only one of the best Trakehner
His dam Gabriella is a daughter by the famous E.H. Imperio who was the reserve winner at his stallion licensing in Neumünster in 2025. He is regarded as a stallion with a dry conformation, passing on the positive influence of his grandsire Balfour xx. E.H. Imperio celebrated successes at the international dressage level with riding master Hubertus Schmidt, being nominated for the Nations Cup team (2015) and as a reserve for the Rio Olympics (2016) and the European Championships (2017).
E.H. Imperio sired 11 licensed sons, among them six premium stallions, and 27 state premium mares. These include the licensed Grand Prix-stallion Heuberger TSF who successfully competed under Anabel Balkenhol, as well as the 2015 and 2016 Vice Bundeschampion in dressage, Goldmond TSF, and the licensed E.H. Schwarzgold, who qualified for the Bundeschampionat, performed successfully in advanced level (S) dressage tests and has become a very popular sire with breeders.
Standing O’Vation TSF, a full sister to E.H. Schwarzgold, was the 2013 champion mare, finalist at the World Championships in Ermelo and later successful in dressage tests up to the advanced (S) level.
Great-grandsire E.H. Connery was regarded as one of the most important sires in the Trakehner breed, shining at the Warendorf Bundeschampionat at the age of three, four and five. He was known for siring horses with super rideability and work ethic.
Gaspard’s great-grandsire on the maternal side of the pedigree, Schwadroneur, was also an important sire of the Trakehner breed. He was Danish Stallion of the Year in 2000 and 2023 in Germany. He was also one of Denmark’s most successful dressage horses under Anne Grethe Törnblad with 36 victories and placings up to the Grand Prix Special-level.
Schwadroneur’s progeny impressed with good size, amazing Trakehner type, harmonious conformations and powerful movements with lots of elevation and strength. Schwadroneur presented the top-priced horses at the mare auction in Neumünster in 2000 and 2001: state premium and premium mare Tamara (140.000 DM) and state premium mare Evita (110.000 DM). The latter is also the dam of the exceptional stallion E.H. Easy Game, who is the sire of the stallion of the century E.H. Millenium and of the incredible Grand Prix-mare BB Dalera TSF. Under Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, she has won many championship titles in Germany and Europe as well as the Tokyo Olympics in 2022 with absolutely unforgettable, breath-taking performances. She is the undisputed no. one in the world dressage rankings.
Schwadroneur has sired 9 licensed stallions, among them the eagerly moving Hertug who was approved for stud purposes in Alsfeld. He is also the sire of a number of winners and reserve champions at central mare registration events and performance tests. More than 10 of his offspring have successfully competed at Grand Prix-level. His son Esprit was ranked 10th in the world rankings at the beginning of 2004.
Clearly influenced by their sire, you couldn’t aks for anything more when it comes to the movement quality of his first offspring. Large-framed and with a perfect conformtion, yet with clear and appropriate gender types, they all impress right down the line.
Breeding directors Lars Gehrmann and Neel-Heinrich Schoof stated in an article in the magazine ”Der Trakehner” (issued 4/23), ”The remarkable quality of his first foal crop in terms of basic gaits, type and correctness is confirmed by three highly regarded auction foals.”
One example is a filly out of the Hanoverian mare Dancier’s Lightness, nominated second reserve winner in the dressage filliy division at the Oldenburg Fohlenchampionat at Gestüt Schönweide in Mecklenburg Western-Pomerania in July 2023. Gaspard also presented the winning foal in the dressage filly division at the Trakehner Fohlenchampionat at Hauptgestüt Graditz in 2023: A filly out of premium mare Dolce Vita (breeder and owner: Gestüt Ganschow), also nominated as the overall reserve winner of the foal show.
His 2024 foal crop is just as exceptional as 2023! One of them is the colt Gioiello by Gaspard out of Gunilla by Marseille, bred by Conny Götschl/Rettinahof. The filly Katara by Gaspard – Touch my Heart, bred by Ilonka Danowski, has been accepted for the 2024 Elite Foal Auction in Münster-Handorf.
