Payment
The full amount is payable when ordering. In the case that the mare doesn't get pregnant and you are able to provide a veterinary confirmation proving that the mare is not in foal you will get a 60% discount when ordering semen the following year. Please note: It is the duty of the owner of the mare to inform Hesselhoej.dk ApS if the mare is not in foal.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that surcharges on transport may occur due to public holidays, weekends and for rural locations etc.



The container where the semen was stored must be returned.








Terms and Conditions for Spotilas Boesgaard
ATTENTION! Breeders to Spotilas Boesgaard must be aware that if the mare does not become pregnant in the 1st insemination period, the mare can be inseminated again without having to pay another 1st instalment. (1st installment is a lump sum). This applies to the current covering season.
Payment to Hesselhoej.dk ApS takes place via invoice to bank account.

When covering with fresh semen, you must pay the first part of the cover through the 1st instalment. If your mare is not pregnant after the first heat, you can continue the insemination in the subsequent heats without additional payment after the 1st installment. You will be invoiced for the second part of the cost of coverage through a 2nd installment, which is issued 70 days after the last insemination, unless a negative pregnancy certificate is submitted. It is the responsibility of the mare owner to provide Hesselhoej.dk ApS with a negative pregnancy certificate from a veterinarian. Thus, the mare owner bears the burden of proof, and without a negative pregnancy certificate, the mare owner must bear the cost of the 2nd installment.

All prices include the cost for the coverage certificate and VAT. As a starting point, sperm boxes must be returned.

Pricelist of insemination:
For the insemination of the mare at Hesselhoej ApS in the season the cost is 2.000 DKK + VAT

This price covers scanning of ovaries, utensils and equipment. The price is per mare and counts for the entire season in 2024.

Cost of stabling per day is 160 DKK + VAT. If any treatments are required by a vet in connection with the insemination, it will be invoiced separately from Højgaard Hestehospital.

THE FIRST INSTALMENT IS DUE AT THE FIRST INSEMINATION. THERE WON’T BE A REFUND IF THE STALLION IS REMOVED FROM THE SEASON DUE TO INJURY, ILLNESS OR SALE. IF THAT HAPPENS YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO HAVE YOUR MARE COVERED BY ONE OF HESSELHOEJ.DK’S APS OWN STALLIONS WITHOUT ANY EXTRA COST.

In case of late payment, SEGES might block the report. In that case the foal won’t be registered before the late payment has gone through. In addition, the owner of the mare must pay the fee that follows due to the delayed report at SEGES.


Discounts and gift cards
Any discounts or gift cards agreement happens on the condition of timely payment. If the payment isn’t maintained, and Hesselhoej.dk ApS is compelled to send a reminder the discount agreement is null and void.


In a possible dispute
Should a possible dispute arise (e.g. in the case of a purchased cover), Hesselhoej.dk ApS can be made responsible for a maximum of the amount that Hesselhoej has invoiced for the purchased special item.

If you want your mare inseminated at home, refrigerated semen can be sent to you or picked up by further arrangement.

Transported semen can be ordered on following days:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday between 7.30 – 8.30 am on telephone (+45) 20770708.

Terms and conditions for the transportation of semen:
All expenses regarding the insemination and shipping are covered by the owner of the mare. In case of shipping of transported semen, the shipping fee may vary.

It is the buyers responsibility to ensure the delivered semen will not be onsold.

Any dispute will be handled under Danish legislation in court.

EMBRYO TRANSFER:
If the owner of the mare wants to make use of embryo transfer, it must be notified at the same time that the semen is first being ordered.

If the rinsing is successful and several embryos can be used, another first instalment and following second instalment fall due when the surrogate mare is stated pregnant within 70 days. By freezing of embryos both first and second instalment fall due. The owner of the mare is obliged to document every single rinsing regardless of the result.

If you decide to stable your mare at Hesselhoej during the period of insemination, you will be charged for the time that the mare is stabled for. The mare is also not covered by Hesselhoejs insurance. This means that in the case of any accidents, injuries, or the like, Hesselhoej cannot be held responsible. The owner of the mare is fully aware of this and is the responsible party if accidents or injuries occur during the mare’s stay.

In case there is a need for treatment from a vet, Hesselhoej will do their absolute best to get the owners consent before calling the vet. If the mare shows signs of life-threatening illness or injury Hesselhoej is warranted to call a vet with an eye to treat the mare without the owner’s preceding consent. The owner will hereafter defray the expenses.

If your mare doesn’t get pregnant using the semen from Hesselhoej, or the foal is born with flaws, it is not caused by insufficient semen or due to the insemination being mishandled.

Hesselhoej cannot be hold responsible for any sustained injuries, impairments, or the like both during and after the stabling, insemination, and pregnancy.

Right of cancellation
In the case of a special order the 14 days right of cancellation do not apply
